Overwinter in a resting stage on host, becoming active when buds open. Several generations are produced per year.

COMMENTS:
Apple rust mites resemble other species of rust mites: broad at the front end and tapering to the rear. Typical damage is reddening of leaf margins and upward cupping of the leaf. These mites are an important early-season food source for predatory mites.
BODY LENGTH:
Adult - 0.17 mm; Mature nymph - 0.15 mm.
