Description: LATIN NAME: Typhlocyba pomaria (McAtee) LIFE CYCLE: Overwinter as eggs in host. Eggs hatch about the same time as for campylomma (early to mid-May). Nymphs are present until late June. Eggs of second generation hatch over a long period in August. Two generations per year. MONITORING: Inspect underside of leaves for presence of first generation nymphs starting at petal fall. For second generation, sample mid-summer onward. HOSTS: Apple. COMMENTS: Leafhopper nymphs are a creamy white to pale yellow-green and could be mistaken for campylomma. The abdomen of leafhopper nymphs is narrower, flatter and slightly curved up. They are slower moving than campylomma nymphs and move slightly sideways when running. BODY LENGTH: Adult - 3.0 mm; Mature nymph - 2.5 mm.
